For AW15 Dora Abodi treated us to an insight into a mystical battle in the second instalment of the Cult of the Twin Unisus collection. Intricate details such as the torn edges and waved collars with intentional irregularities further reflect this inner disturbance of this supernatural battle. Fragmentation of crystals and crinkled fabrics were used to show destruction whilst the fine craftsmanship of delicate hand embroidery and quilting you expect from a haute couture show still stand. With prints inspired by exploding crystals and deconstructed robots this show had a truly futuristic feel to it. The strong silhouettes, sometimes asymmetric, still had a timeless element to them. With inspiration from wild London rave’s of the 90’s, science fiction and the gothic atmosphere of Transylvania, it’s not wonder that this show was my personal highlight of LFW.
The Look: Thigh high leather and PVC boots, dark smoky eye makeup and lip rings, ripped fabric, geometric prints and unicorns, lots of unicorns!
