Champagne Bar Voltaire Celebrates Street Food This Spring

Looking to sate the appetite of the City this spring, chic Champagne bar Voltaire is celebrating London’s vibrant street food culture with a new series of exciting residencies. Located in the vaults of the Crowne Plaza London – The City, the Square Mile’s destination bar will be taken over by stellar street truck traders showcasing delicious dishes selected to pair perfectly with Champagne for successive three week residencies from late March onwards.

25th March – 10th April (Wednesday-Friday evenings, 5.30pm-10pm)

Slinging great grilled cheese since 2013 from their bright yellow truck in London’s biggest food markets and festivals, The Cheese Truck showcases the best of British cheese with meltingly gooey toasties. Using artisan cheeses creatively combined with seasonal, free-range and local produce (and paired with Pommery’s Falltime Blanc de Blancs Extra Dry Champagne) delicious combinations will include:

  • Classic Keen’s cheddar, Ogleshield and mixed onion (£6.50)
  • Cropwell Bishop Stilton, sweet cure bacon and pear chutney (£7)
  • Rosary goat’s cheese, honey and walnuts with rosemary butter (£7)
  • Queso Chihuahua cheese, chorizo and rocket (£7.50)

As well as moreish bites (fondue fries, £5, and triple cheese croquettes with TCT chilli and chorizo jam, £6) and must-try sweet Stilton, dark chocolate and walnut brownies with vanilla ice cream (£4.50).

15th April – 1st May (Wednesday-Friday evenings, 5.30pm-10pm)

A Western twist on British ingredients, Bill or Beak serve fully-loaded burgers filled with either duck (bill) or chicken (beak) and towering toppings of unusual extras and sauces, all served in toasted brioche buns. Crowd-pleasing dishes will include:

  • Bill: shredded duck and pork, topped with spring onions, coriander, mint and a Vietnamese dressing with tempura shallots, paired with Pommery Wintertime Blanc de Noirs Champagne
  • Beak: grilled, corn-fed chicken drizzled in Caesar anchovy dressing topped with tempura capers, rosemary croutons and fresh Parmesan, paired with Pommery Summertime Blanc de Blancs Champagne (Both priced at £5 for one bun or £9 for two)
  • Sides: fries topped with house hoisin, pickled cucumber mayo, finished with chicken scratchings (£4.50)

6th – 22nd May (Wednesday-Friday evenings, 5.30pm-10pm)

Randy’s Wing Bar delights the London street food scene with epic, American-style chicken wings. Perfecting marinade blends, spiced flavourings and unusual methods whilst still ensuring that addictive, crispy crunch. There are sure to be queues out the door for dishes, paired with Pommery’s Springtime Brut Rosé Champagne, that include:

  • Randy’s Buffalo Wings with blue cheese and celery (£4.50 for 4)
  • Randy’s Asian Wings sprinkled with crushed fried peanuts and toasted sesame seeds (£4.50 for 4)
  • Randy’s Buffalo Shrimp with lemon and dill dip (£5)
  • Chicken Scratchings with Rosemary salt or Asian 7 spice (£3.50)
