Just one of many reactions we at After Nyne had once we heard the news that Style Guru/ fashionista/ glamazonian queen Carine Roitfeld will be collaborating with UNIQLO.
Roitfeld is set to release a 40 piece collection this Fall for the Japanese born brand – CR Fashion Book finally put the rumours to rest (for the better) by releasing a mini statement + image via instagram confirming the collab. (pictured above)
Having edited French Vogue for over 10 years, & is currently global fashion director of Harper’s Bazaar internationally and editor-in-chief of her own publication, CR Fashion Book we have no doubt she knows her shit when it comes to designing an amazing line. Uniqlo knows how it’s done when it comes to designer collaborations, having previously joined forces with designers such as Jil Sander and Helmut Lang. (we missed these and where pretty pissed off about it!)
Roitfeld has described her own look as having a touch of Iggy Pop about it, and there are definitely some similarities; the messy hair & smudged khohl eyeliner – although her trademark caged high heels, understated grey T-shirts and louche silk blouses tucked in to expensive leather pencil skirts are all her own.
“Fashion is about extravagance & everyone needs a bit of that!” – Carine Roitfeld
But just how extravagant will her Uniqlo collection be? I guess we’ll have to wait & see!
