“The more you trust your intuition, the more empowered you become, the stronger you become, and the happier you become.” – Gisele Bundchen
Last night 16/04/15 will forever be marked the day of Gisele’s retirement. Last night she rocked the runway for the last time at Sao Paulo `Fashion Week. Bucdchen made the emotional announcement via social media which stated:
“I am grateful that at 14, I was given the opportunity to start this journey. Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business.”
Bundchen made her final appearance for Brazilian label Colcci. For her final bow, she walked down the catwalk with a group of models all wearing jeans and t-shirts with different drawings of the world-famous model. She appeared close to tears as she gave a thumbs-up. Many of the other models were also trying to hold back to tears.
Bundchen – who was named the worlds highest paid model in 2014 (with a reported $47 Million in contracts) had a career that has lasted over two decades and fronted campaigns for just about every major designer you could imagine, including Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera & Givenchy as well as fronting her own lingerie line – girl, you better work!
We’ll certainly miss her face on the runway – what do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
For Gisele: aqui está o amanhã – here’s to tomorrow!
