May 19th, students of UCA’s Fashion Altelier course presented their graduate catwalk show at The Royal Academy of Arts.
The twenty-seven AW15 ready to wear collections consisted of both womenswear and menswear pieces – each reflecting the class of 2015’s wide range of diverse visions and future ambitions.
A few favourites from the show included Natalie Bell’s combination of earthy tones and delicate fabric manipulation for her collection entitled ‘Frail’. Using the frayed technique, Bell created the perfect and much sought after ensemble of basic-statement womenswear pieces.
Bartosz Glowacki’s ‘Electric Youth’ collection saw a dynamic approach to the high end, sporty look with his use of tailoring, mid drifts and the innovative floor length sweater dress thus providing the ultimate laid back wardrobe for the inner city chic.
Rosheen Comerford Brunt achieved a brilliant balance between the usual portrayal of the harness and soft femininity with ‘Harnessing – Contradiction‘, using a material with a pearly nude colouring for the detailing. Her collection also emphasised over-looked accessories including a harness backpack.
All the collections are available to view via Vogue.com or alternatively visit the official university site www.ucreative.ac.uk for more details.
