Last night, HTC, a global leader in innovation and design, and worldwide fashion icon and supermodel, Jourdan Dunn co-hosted the launch for the new Limited Edition HTC One M9 INK at the ME London.
The event was the hottest ticket in town, with stars from the world of fashion, music and TV coming together to mark the occasion right under the London sunset. Held in the penthouse suite, presenters Donna Air, Jameela Jamil and Sarah Jane Crawford joined models Lottie Moss, Lilah Parsonsand Billie JD Porter, plus chart topper Conor Maynard.
Guests were treated to a bespoke cocktail made for Jourdan Dunn called the HTC (P)INK – a raspberry mojito inspired cocktail, and were the first to see the new HTC ONE M9 INK handset as well as the first-look HTC INK imagery of Jourdan, taken by leading fashion photographer Matt Irwin who had grazed Vogue Russia, Vogue Japan, Vogue UK, Vogue France, Dazed and Confused, and i-D.
Tapping into the fashion world’s passion for body art, the HTC One M9 INK is the first of its kind and delivers a body art-inspired one off illustration which is engraved onto the back of the phone. Body artist Cally-Jo applied the bespoke HTC INK body art to celebrities and press; and Model and DJ Zara Martin took to the decks to soundtrack the exclusive event ,playing a classic hip-hop set to get everyone on their feet. In addition, Jourdan was surprised at the event and presented with a gold plated version of the new Limited Edition HTC One M9 INK handset, much to her delight.
On the handset unveiling, Jourdan said:
“Body art is an important part of my look and, as I don’t go anywhere without my phone, it makes perfect sense to combine the two to create a uniquely personalised accessory. The opportunity to work with a brand that is famous for design and to put my own creative stamp onto a beautiful looking handset was something that really appealed, with the HTC One M9 INK really capturing my personality.”
The temporary body art featured the image of the open hand and eye, symbolising the need for protection and strength, whilst still being open and approachable in personality and style.
HTC’s CEO Cher Wang said:
“The way your smartphone looks is just as important to your personal style as your bag, jewellery and even your body art. HTC leads the way in inspiring innovative design to provide the ultimate experience in personalisation, so we wanted to be the first brand to bring this level of individuality to our handsets. The HTC One M9 is our most beautiful handset yet and HTC INK reflects our commitment to best in class design by working with inspiringly creative people like Jourdan.”
