The Exhibitionist Hotel in London today announced the launch of “London Seen” an exclusive “Ronnie Wood – The Rolling Stones”, photographic exhibition, sponsored by Crown Royal Whisky. The never-seen-before pictures of the Rolling Stones’ guitarist shot by his personal friend and photographer Nathan Browning will go on display at The Exhibitionist Hotel from the 8th July 2015.
The month long exhibition will also see BBC2’s Dragons’ Den winner displaying his ‘Pop Icon’ sculptures that helped him win £80,000 in investment from Peter Jones, James Caan and Theo Paphitis in 2008. Sculptures of Elton John, Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix and The Spice Girls amongst others will support the headline act of The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood exclusive images.
Guy Portelli (Sculptor) commented: “I am honoured to show my work alongside Nathan’s images of Ronnie Wood and there is great synergy between my ‘Pop Icon’ sculptures and Nathan’s images of the icon that is Ronnie Wood.”
The star studded launch event at the hotel on the 8th July 2015 will see music luminaries past and present gather to celebrate one of the most iconic Rock ‘n’ Roll guitarist of all time. Ronnie Wood – legendary guitarist of the veteran rock band The Rolling Stones – is the subject of the exhibition, which will provide, through the exclusive collection of images by Nathan Browning, an insight into the musician’s private life on and off stage.
The exhibition comes after photographer Nathan Browning had a chance meeting with Ronnie Wood on the Kings Road in London where Nathan kindly offered the Rock Star a lift in his car in 2010. The next two years saw their friendship develop and Nathan began shooting the ‘legend’ at home and on tour and the exhibition focuses on this period in Ronnie’s life.
Nathan Browning (Photographer) commented: “The exhibition is an intimate portrait of Ronnie Wood and illuminates his warm, charismatic personality and his sense of fun. I am so proud to have been given the opportunity to work with one of my heroes.”
Manhad Narula (Owner/Founder The Exhibitionist Hotel) commented: “We are delighted that both Nathan and Guy have chosen to show their work at The Exhibitionist Hotel and we’re happy to facilitate this art moment and we’re sure the exhibition will be a hit with music fans and admirers of sculpture and artistic photography”.
After the private view on the 8th of July, the general public will be able to enjoy the exhibition for one month only until the 9th of August.
