Boasting breath-taking riverside views, Columbia, the new restaurant, terrace and bar at DoubleTree by Hilton London Docklands Riverside is like a scene from a Bond film. Opening on the 9th July, step off the boat from Canary Wharf straight on to the hotel’s very own private pier leading up to Columbia.

The new restaurant forms part of a multi-million pound renovation at the hotel in the Docklands. Decked out in a nautical theme throughout, Columbia’s kitchen and menus will be overseen by Executive Chef Vernon Strachan. From breakfast through to dinner, the menu will offer signature dishes including starters of Szechuan peppered squid and Devon crab on sourdough. Mains will include 28-day dry-aged rib-eye and sirloin steaks; marinated lamb cutlets; and grilled halloumi with preserved lemons and roasted vegetables. Charcuterie sharing boards, salads and a selection of burgers will also be available, alongside a bar menu of smaller plates.
The stunning terrace will be the perfect al-fresco spot for group drinking and dining, come rain or shine this summer. Customise your order from the DIY BBQ menu where you can choose from ten different skewers (tiger prawns; rib-eye steak; sticky pork belly) cooked on your own miniature BBQ at the table and served with a choice of sauces (Peri Peri; lemon and herb; crushed peanut) and sides (house slaw; salty, buttery corn on the cob; heirloom tomato salad). Cigar connoisseurs will love the dedicated cigar terrace, offering the ideal space to catch the iconic view while enjoying a Cuban or two with a brandy, bourbon or beer in hand.
From the restaurant and terrace through to the bar, the wide selection of drinks on offer welcomes the summer season in style. The cocktail menu includes classics – mojitos, martinis, daiquiris – alongside signature serves such as Miel 7 (Havana rum, honey, Angostura bitters, orange juice) and the Rosy Lee (Beefeater gin, lychee liqueur and pink grapefruit juice). The wine list explores bins from around the world, with a wide selection of Champagne, as the bar and the expansive terrace are set to be the perfect spots for summertime drinking and late night tipples by the Thames.
