Landmark Indian The Cinnamon Club Reopens After £1Million Anniversary Transformation

Magnificently majestic. Exceptionally modern. A celebration of modern Indian cooking. A landmark London restaurant is reborn as Vivek Singh’s The Cinnamon Club – arguably London’s original fine dining Indian restaurant – re-opens following a £1 million transformation ahead of its 15th anniversary.

Set within the grand Grade II-listed Old Westminster Library, The Cinnamon Club’s book-lined shelves and traditional features have been updated and elevated with dashes of colour and contemporary furnishings. Vivek Singh and Head Chef Rakesh Ravindran Nair have developed a stunning new menu that combines The Cinnamon Club’s signatures with new dishes and celebratory platters. A unique gin trolley offers cocktails to clink from lunch through to supper.

Adding to the restaurant’s convivial atmosphere, Vivek and Rakesh introduce celebratory sharing dishes.

Carved and served tableside for between two and eight guests, the new sharing platters are perfect for special celebrations and lingering suppers. Dishes include exclusive ingredients to The Cinnamon Club such as the very special milk-fed Herdwick lamb – a slowly-braised shoulder of highly sought-after lamb from the Lake District served with saffron sauce, pomegranate pilau, burhani raita and coriander chutney.

A brand new gin trolley in the main dining room offers an exceptionally curated collection of gin, sourced from iconic brands and small-batch producers across the UK. With over 20 blends available including the rare Dodd’s Gin, dedicated bartenders will serve cocktails including the premium Aromatic Martini (Monkey 47, Belsazar vermouth and tea bitters) and Spicy Affair (Tanqueray 10, saffron and chamomile).

Subtle updates in the décor refresh the main dining room without completely altering the look and feel of the space. Elegant and timeless, the room provides a rich backdrop for dining with original feature bookcases and warm natural brown tones complemented by teal touches. Unique artwork showcasing the heritage of the building adorns the walls of The Gallery – formerly the Mezzanine.

The Library Bar is classically casual with clean lines, traditional details and a refreshed colour palette – perfect for quiet drinks and private celebrations.

Maham Anjum has created an exclusive range of tableware for The Cinnamon Club that perfectly reflects the style of cooking. From plates and bowls to jugs and chutney pots, the range of terracotta tableware is emblazoned with the signature Cinnamon Club leaf and glazed in some of Vivek’s favourite colours. Maham adapted the shapes and weights of each piece in the collection considering both the optimum size and style for presentation as well as the needs of the waiting staff.

Mingling the modern with the majestic, The Cinnamon Club is the perfect space for grandiose occasions, convivial family celebrations and sensational sharing feasts.
