Following the success of ArtBAB 2018, Fair and Programme Director, Kaneka Subberwal, is delighted to announce the ambitious plans for ArtBAB 2019.
ArtBAB fosters excellence in the visual arts through exhibitions and educational programmes that serve as catalysts for the future of Bahraini and Middle Eastern Art. For its third edition last year, ArtBAB hosted an eclectic list of worldwide participating galleries with a focus embracing Bahrain’s cultural heritage as an intimate marketplace.
We are also proud that After Nyne has partnered with ArtBAB and Bahrain Art Week in London to give an inside view of these exciting events through editorial – online and in print – and broadcast media.
Bahrain Art Week seeks to strengthen creative bridges between the UK and Bahrain; it has previously been hosted by such prestigious partners as the Victoria & Albert Museum, the British Museum and the Saatchi Gallery.
Promoting cross cultural dialogue, Bahrain Art Week will serve to introduce art collectors and enthusiasts to the talents and vision of Bahrain’s artists through exhibitions, talks, workshops and pop-up shops.
ArtBAB continues to expand every year, the third edition this March having included an impressive line-up of 15 galleries and 13 independent artists from 11 countries. This year saw total sales increase by 38% over the previous year as the fair continues to grow and develop.
ArtBAB aims to reinforce Bahrain’s position in the Gulf as a regional arts hub, inspiring entrepreneurship, art education and local skills development. The 2019 fair will take place from Wednesday 6th to Sunday 10th March 2019.
